Jacqueline Tinkenawo and Tinashe Clara Kamangira both based in the UK have been announced as the winners for Miss November and December in the ongoing Face of Competition.
The selection of the two completes the line-up of the 12 finalists who will now face off in the final showdown to be crowned as Face of Zimbabwe 2012. Voting for the finals has now opened and is expected to run until the 10th of December.
Becoming one of the Face of Zimbabwe finalists is Jacqueline’s latest conquest having been recently crowned 1st Princess in the Miss Zim UK pageant held in Leicester in October. Tinashe Kamangira was selected by the judges as a December wild from all previous contestants who had entered the competition but had failed to make the final position.
With the 12 finalists based in the UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Zimbabwe and China, the competition has seen itself attract a large constituency of Zimbabweans abroad. The monthly finalists are expected to become Tourism ambassadors where they are based whilst raising money for the FOZ Charity drive called ‘My Brother’s Keeper’.
Commenting on the selection of Jacqueline as Miss November, one of the Face of Zimbabwe judges, Radio Host Priscilla Nalana said “despite just starting out, Jacqueline has great potential as a model and had the beauty which epitomised the Zimbabwean woman”.
Another judge, beauty siren Caroline Kumbukani commenting on the selection of Tinashe as Miss December said “Tinashe is a photogenic beauty who is hardworking with a never give up attitude, qualities which endeared her to me, it’s what the Zimbabwean girl is known for – being a go getter” she said.
A unique feature of the competition, which is sponsored by London based money transfer company World Remit, is that the final winner is chosen entirely by public vote.
The competition organisers said, “For us, the appeal of the competition is the public participation, this way we know that the winner is a representative beauty queen judged and chosen by the Zimbabwean people.
