There is no better time to exercise your generosity than now. The question is why sponsor a child you don’t know. Just because we cannot help ‘all the children doesn’t mean we shouldn’t extend our hand where there is a clear need.
A real act of charity is when we find it within our hearts to help others without expecting anything in return. This makes sponsoring a child you have never met that much more of a life changing experience. Your assistance could put a perpetual smile of a total stranger, a vulnerable child whose countless prayers for you may be the source of your blessing.
Your sponsorship will be focused on the individual development needs of the sponsored child, while also taking into consideration the necessities of the child’s family and community. In this way, your donation will be important in meeting the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of each of the children you choose to support. The FOZ Trust has adopted the Compassion strategy of one-to-one sponsorship model which allows sponsors and sponsored children to have input into each other’s lives through writing each other letters and through prayers and visits if required.
Sponsorship of a child is £20 a month; less than 70p a day; this amount will go a long way to secure the child’s education and basic needs for them to attend school. The minimum period of period of sponsorship is usually for a year. However, we encourage a long term relationship with the children. Your decision to sponsor a child should not be taken lightly; it is long term commitment which will impact on the life of the child allowing them to break free from poverty and live life to the full.
Face of Zimbabwe Trust is in partnership with key charity partners who assist us in delivering on our objectives. Most of our donations worldwide are received through Covenant LSB Foundation and Motherland Zimbabwe (‘MLZ’). The latter is an international charity based in the United Kingdom established to harness the manifold forms Zimbabwe diasporic capital for home country’s socio-economic development.
MLZ is registered with the UK Charity Commission under Registration Number: 1129616. This means that if you are a UK based sponsor and taxpayer, every gift you make to Face of Zimbabwe is worth 25% more under the current Gift Aid Scheme.
In Zimbabwe, Face of Zimbabwe Trust works with several charity organisations to facilitate the disbursement of the sponsorship. One of these charities is Faith Foundation which currently looks after several underprivileged children in Epworth. The Face of Zimbabwe Child Sponsorship Programme offers: educational opportunities, including literacy and life skills training; health care and health education; and nutritional supplements. Our partnership with churches also means that the children are nurtured within a Christian environment where they are given the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.
