About Tourism

Zimbabwe, a land-locked country in Southern Africa, is extravagantly endowed with natural beauty.

This natural wonderland offers winding rivers for exploration and relaxing natural parks with beautiful views. Zimbabwe shares the remarkable Victoria Falls, the world's biggest waterfall, with its neighbour Zambia. The country has many National Parks that vividly display its efforts in wilderness conservation.

Many travellers who desire to see animals in their natural habitat can have their wish realised in Zimbabwe. The Hwange National Park is the best location to see several species of birds, a large population of elephants, and over one hundred other animals. Mana Pools National Park seasonally hosts many animal species that have become rare such as the wild dogs and rhinoceroses.
Visitors can enjoy the beautiful botanical gardens in the Eastern Highlands National Parks while climbing the country's highest peaks in Nyanga.

Indeed Zimbabwe has many adventurous attractions and tours to offer travellers. Hiking, viewing the natural surroundings, and observing the art displays are all spectacular activities to enjoy in the colourful nation of Zimbabwe.
With the Great Zimbabwe monuments, the country is home to the largest ancient stone structure in Africa outside Egypt. Home to four UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Zimbabwe has a rich history of ancient civilisations that makes its friendly people stand proud. It is sure to leave you with memories as indelible as those of David Livingstone and Cecil John Rhodes when they witnessed the country's riches.
The Eastern Highlands, a mountain range found in the eastern part of Zimbabwe, is one of the country’s, if not, the world’s most scenic areas. The highlands encapsulate the diversity of Zimbabwe's scenery endowments and visual riches.
It is simply a natural wonderland, a story of mountains, valleys, gorges, meandering and plunging streams and waterfalls.
When, in 1890s, the Scottish trekker George Benjamin Dunbar Moodie explored the area, he called it "the promised land, the loveliest country I have ever seen." This is the highest region in the country, extending over 300 kilometres from north to south and forming a natural border with neighbouring Mozambique.
A good 13% (about 5 million hectares) of Zimbabwe is dedicated wildlife country or protected nature reserves.  Zimbabwe parks are Africa's finest havens for wildlife from the lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, zebras and home to many predators and endangered species plus very large and varied birdlife. Zimbabwe Parks & Wildlife Management Authority has a mandate to manage the entire wildlife population, whether on private or communal lands.
Zimbabwe is abundantly endowed with natural beauty in spectacular waterfalls, from the majestic Victoria Falls, a world natural wonder, UNESCO world heritage site and by some measures the world’s largest waterfall, to Mtarazi Falls in Honde Valley which at 762 metres high is the 2nd and 17th highest waterfall in African and in the world respectively. In Chimanimani, one would be forgiven to ask ‘Where is the groom’ by just looking at the stunning and perplexing beauty of the befittingly named, Bridal Veil Falls.
Above all, the biggest asset Zimbabwe has as a tourism destination is its warm, receptive and very friendly people. It is no wander Zimbabwe has an impeccable tourist safety record.
