Selecting a Zimbabwean Bird. Face of Zimbabwe is the country’s first and only internet based pageant in which the ultimate winner is chosen by the public. The competition, which is in its First Season runs for the whole year and selects a winning monthly contestant from January to December each year. At the end of the year, an ultimate winner will be selected from the 12 monthly winners to become Face of Zimbabwe, 2012. The competition is open for ordinary Zimbabweans all over the world. Another innovative feature of this pageant is that although the judging panel selects the 12 monthly winners, the ultimate winner of the competition will be selected by members of the public using an internet voting system. The results will be verified by the competition’s lawyers and accountants.   

All the 12 winning contestants (view the winners so far) will feature in a 2012 calendar that is published at the end of the year which will be distributed worldwide. Face of Zimbabwe is much more about charity than mere pontificating. One of the selection criteria for the contestants is a practical proposal regarding a charitable cause in Zimbabwe which they are willing to support and fundraise for. The 12 monthly contestants are encouraged through Face of Zimbabwe to fundraise for their chosen charity or some charity causes identified by the Trust. The contestant who raises the highest amount for charity will be crowned Miss Personality – Face of Zimbabwe. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the calendar will also be distributed to charity by the winning contestant.  

The 12 monthly winners and the ultimate winner of the Face of Zimbabwe winner competition will receive several prizes from the sponsors and a lucrative advertising contract to represent a top company. Besides being a showcase of real Zimbabwean beauties, the competition seeks to promote Zimbabwe and draw attention to the country’s tourism and developmental needs through its many different rainbow faces. We are all Zimbabweans; we are all Face of Zimbabwe.
